Movie filmed at Noah’s is Out and a Big Success
This post was originally made last year. My how time flies! Anyway the movie is out and up to 51 million dollars in box office worldwide as of August 30, 2012. Judging by the number of pictures that have been taken of the “Nor’easter Diner” mural on the Church Sreet side of the building, I’d say a lot of people recognized Noah’s location as used in the movie. We’re all proud to have participated in such a well crafted and acted movie. They didn’t duck the anguish involved in a couple’s journey to intimacy.
As far as we know, the dates for the filming sequence at Noah’s Restaurant are October 4-6th. What movie-what filming?? Great Hope Springs with Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones and Steve Carell is being shot at several locations in Stonington Borough in early October. There will be a breakfast scene and a dinner scene of the two principals at the “Nor’easter” aka Noah’s, filmed on the 5th of October. So, friends and customers, we will close for 3 days in order for the film crew to set up, film and break down… but, we will reopen on Friday the 7th at 7:45am. If there are any changes to this, we will post them as soon as we hear from the movie crew. WE WILL BE OPEN FOR COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND. We are sorry for any inconvenience- but geez… it is pretty exciting, after all.
