Swope is one of our customers’ favorite breads. We have many requests for the recipe, so here it is!
Yield: 3 each small loaves (8 x 4 x 2 1/2″ deep pan)
1.Mix together: 1 Qt Buttermilk, 2 tsp salt, 2 tsp baking soda, 1 c granulated sugar
2.Mix in until flour clears: 2 c bread flour, 4 c whole wheat flour
3.Portion into greased bread pans fill pans 1/2 way
4. Bake @ 350 approx. 1 hour until tests done, (toothpick inserted into bread comes out clean)
5. Remove from pans and cool on rack
