Irish Style Oatmeal Steel-cut oats make the difference because the unrefined oats are merely dried and rough-sliced. Rolled oats, on the other hand, are thin sliced, steamed, rolled into flakes, and then dried. Whereas rolled oats cook fast, steel-cut oats take a half an hour to cook, retain more vitamins in the process, and maintain a nutty flavor with an “al dente” texture. Though steel cut oats may take too long to cook at home, at Noah’s we put them on early so they’re ready to serve whenever you want them. 2.00
